Learners

You can start an Equal Education group at your school. With this you can work to improve problems in your school, particularly in poor and working class areas – everything from lack of books, computers and sports facilities, to late-coming, transport and broken windows. If you are at a well-resourced school then you can start a group which supports EE campaigns in other areas. EE leaders will come to your school to help you build this group and connect it to Equal Education. With this group you can also attend weekly EE meetings in your area, or start these meetings if they don’t yet exist.

Parents

You can start an EE Parent’s group in your area. Through this you can support campaigns for better facilities and teaching in our schools, particularly in poor and working class areas.

Teachers and Principals

Equal Education is not in competition with your unions. We respect the teachers’ unions and want to work with them for quality and equal education. However, you can support Equal Education as a teacher. Support learners in your school to establish an EE group, and meet with others teachers to improve the quality of teaching at your school.

Academics

If you have an interest in education, we would be happy to meet with you. As we are doing out work, we often find that policy questions arise for which inadequate material exists in the published literature. You can be very helpful both in directing us to the best material in your area of expertise, and by assigning your students particular research questions which may support work with which we are currently engaged.

International Volunteers

Equal Education has benefited enormously from the help of volunteers, including international volunteers. We do not accept international volunteers for periods shorter than three months. We prefer international volunteers for a minimum period of six months. We can assist with transport, where possible. International volunteers can perform any of the tasks listed above under local volunteers.

Companies and Donors

EE depends on donations and membership fees in order to operate. We accept general donations, but can also look for a specific project which you’d like to support. We would be happy to do a presentation for you on our work. Please support us.
